I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's boxing match.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
